Draw a monster.
Make the team.

Monsters FC turns a child's drawing into a football player: a collectible card and a monster they can play with. Every wonky eye and wobbly leg stays exactly where they put it.

The film

From a crayon drawing to a goal-scorer, in 15 seconds.

How it works Coming soon

Draw together. Meet your monster. Play your first match.

No drawing skill needed. Six legs is fine. No legs is fine. A rectangle full of scribble is very fine.

  1. Draw a monster

Any pen, any paper, any shape at all. A grown-up takes a photo of it.

  2. Watch it come to life

The drawing becomes a bouncy, cartoon footballer under the stadium lights. Nothing gets tidied up, and a grown-up approves it before anything is made.

  3. Play it and trade it

It gets six football numbers and a special move named after whatever makes it strange. A card for the playground, and a player for the game.

The fairness rule

No child can draw a stronger monster. Only a differently shaped one.

  • Six numbers, in three pairsWhat a monster does with the ball, and what it does without it. The numbers on the same line always face each other.
  • Rarer cards cost more starsA rarer monster takes up more of your squad, so the most useful card in the game can be a well-shaped common one.
  • Drawing skill never buys a placeA four-year-old's scribble and a nine-year-old's careful drawing meet as equals on the table.

In the app Coming soon

The Monster Maker.

Snap a photo of a drawing, give the monster a name, and watch it walk out onto the pitch as a brand-new Monsters FC card, with your child's name on it.

  • Photo in, footballer outDrawn in the same bouncy cartoon style as every monster in the game.
  • Their name on the cardEvery monster made in the app says who created it.
  • Checked before it's madePhotos, names and descriptions are checked automatically for anything unsuitable, and a grown-up approves the result.

Twelve clubs, plus the Misfits

Every monster plays for a team.

The team gives a monster a kit and a home ground. It never changes the numbers.

Misfits United

None of us match — that's our superpower. A home for the monsters who don't fit anywhere else, like Peepers, Trunkle and Splatt.

For grown-ups

What we're building, and the promises behind it.

Monsters FC isn't open yet. This is how we're designing it, so you can tell us what matters to you.

The drawing stays theirs

Your family keeps the original drawing. We'll explain the rights in plain English before anything is sent.

A grown-up approves everything

Accounts belong to parents. Nothing is made, printed or shared until you've seen it and said yes.

Private unless you choose otherwise

A monster is for your family by default. Sharing it more widely is a separate choice that you make.

No paid advantage

You can't buy a stronger monster, and we won't sell surprise packs inside the app.

No chat with strangers

No open messaging, no friend-finding by search, and no adverts aimed at children.

The paper game needs no screen

The card game works on a kitchen table. The app adds depth for older children, but you don't need it to play.

Right now we only collect a grown-up's email address, and only if you join the list below. Read our privacy notice.

“I'm building Monsters FC around an idea my children's drawings made impossible to ignore: what if their monsters could become real football players? The drawing stays theirs. The shape stays wonderfully strange. The first step is a small family pilot, and I'll share what we learn as we build.”
